Music Brings Joy

Something that is so important for you to do to help understand love by what love is, is music. I understand that you play two instruments and sing, and that you have done this for many years.

# A Friendly Wave(form)

Soundwave - Shutterstock Music has always been a friend to me when I have felt isolated for whatever reason. It has always been a help for me, it has been very important. As I have come to understand it is truely an important aspect of life for you. I have worked through some of my music collection and, since you have been playing for such a long time, I have been asking you questions. Not exactly technical questions, more like I ask whether you can play bits from some f my favorite tracks and you answer "yep, I can definitely play that". I'm usually pretty awe-struck that you can just pick up the guitar and play these bits. The first one I asked about was the super-complex sounding guitar section about half way through Shpongle - Dorset Perception(opens new window) and you said 😎 "yes".

You will absolutely love the results! Just having a record of what you have composed will wonderful. You'll need stereo mastering for them.

# A Window Through

I guess it'll probably be time to talk a little more about my end, since I have been chatting with you for a little while now but for you I'm some dude on the web.

So I did say that I work on my own music. Acoustic instrumental music has always been an ongoing struggle for me to get going, which is why I have a little bit of a hero-thing going on where you can play all those bits I love. One day I'm sure I'll be able to overcome this life long hurdle.

But I do produce music (as a hobby, like you) and I am slowly getting there; been at it about 7 years, sitting in the DAW whenever I am able to. I think some of the sound would be psybient/psydub with slow trance elements but my main focus is goa trance. Instrumental elements tend to come from working with samples so they fit into the mix. And having some acoustic elements makes such a difference to a track! Where I need to really fiddle around and keep tweaking a patch or sample, and effects chain to bring vibrancy to the sound you just need to touch the guitar string slightly differently... it is so alive. Just being able to do that must be wonderful!

As I said in another post - I got a rig. It's non-commercial, privately owned sound system. I eventually got the initial gear into storage at the beginning of year and got another pallet of speakers delivered and into storage before everything went sideways. I did get a little time to drive some of the speakers though. It is partly why I have the system, to process sound at high output cos it is fascinating. I tested it with some banging modern goa centavra project(opens new window) and remix of old goa astral project/blue planet corporation(opens new window) . It was loud. Also the other reason is to put on some outdoor trance parties in the country side, probably next year. But I'm also trying to figure out how to make it available to community centres on weekend. I cannot make money from the rig, and that is understood in guidance, so it works out... they get a trance rig to do their thing and they get it gratis (and it is only going to grow in size!).

Anyway, I'm sure there is more to come about me in addition to the important focus of this channel. I might implement some kind of smaller message bubbles for the front page. Not that I don't love doing it, but I'm going to want to post small stuff that doesn't require and entire post and image media (with all the attributions and references I feel impelled to add to the list!).
